In 2009, he returned to Edinburgh with two new shows one entitled Fakespeare which is a play, and his new Stand up show Human Dressage. His Fakespeare play, a sell-out success, will go on tour in February 2010. Human Dressage saw him nominated for The Edinburgh Comedy Award for the third time, and toured from October 2009 to January 2010.

In April 2010, Kane caused controversy on the Australian show "Good News Week" when he made a joke centred around autistic children, prompting an apology from the network and criticism from the Parliamentary Secretary for Disabilities.
