Biography

Rodrigo Hinzpeter studied in the jewish Instituto Hebreo Doctor Chaim Weizmann until he was exepelled and had to graduate from Alexander Fleming High School. Hinzpeter then studied in Universidad Gabriela Mistral

 until he entered Universidad Católica de Chile trough a special admission vacancy. Hinzpeter subsequently majored in Legal and Social Sciences at the Universidad Católica de Chile, obtaining his law degree from the Chilean Supreme Court.

Mr. Hinzpeter was a Professor of Civil Law at the Universidad Católica de Chile and he is the author of “La Hipoteca”, (La Ley Publications, 1993).

Rodrigo Hinzpeter has an extensive professional track record. Mr. Hinzpeter is a member of the Chilean Bar Association and he worked as an attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York, United States of America.

Rodrigo Hinzpeter has combined his practice as a lawyer with an active role in Chilean politics. He is one of the founders of Renovación Nacional, where he was National Secretary and First Vice-President. He was a member of its Political Committee. In 2005, Mr. Hinzpeter acted as campaign manager for President-Elect Sebastián Piñera and as his general coordinator during the recent presidential elections.
Mr. Hinzpeter was born in Santiago, he is 44 years old, married and father of three children.
