Regional Transit Service (RTS) is an operating public transit subsidiary of the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority
, located in Rochester, New York. RTS was founded in 1970 after the Rochester Transit Corporation was renamed the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (RGRTA).
Throughout the years, RTS has purchased buses that were manufactured from GMC, Flxible, Orion, Nova Bus, New Flyer, NABI, and Gillig.
routes operate from a transit center located at Broad and Chestnut Streets.
Two routes (numbers 12-9th Ward/MCC and 27-Unity) do not serve Downtown Rochester.
The current conventional routes operated by Regional Transit Service include:

Most, if not all transit vehicles are wheelchair lift equipped, in compliance with American Disability Act (ADA) requirements.

Current
Currently, RTS uses Nova Bus Classics, New Flyer D40LFs and D60LFs, NABI 40-LFWs, and Gillig Advantages. Many of these buses are equipped with a Detroit Diesel Series 50 or a Cummins ISL engine. Buses operate out of a single garage, located at 1372 East Main Street in the City of Rochester.Most, if not all transit vehicles are wheelchair lift equipped, in compliance with American Disability Act (ADA) requirements.
