, located in Rochester, New York. RTS was founded in 1970 after the Rochester Transit Corporation was renamed the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (RGRTA).

Throughout the years, RTS has purchased buses that were manufactured from GMC, Flxible, Orion, Nova Bus, New Flyer, NABI, and Gillig.

Bus routes

Regional Transit Service operates 28 individual routes, most of which operate on a hub and spoke system from Downtown Rochester. City routes originate from Main and Clinton, or Main and St. Paul Street. Suburban routes and park and ride

 routes operate from a transit center located at Broad and Chestnut Streets.

Two routes (numbers 12-9th Ward/MCC and 27-Unity) do not serve Downtown Rochester.

†- these two routes merge in the southwestern portion of Rochester and carry a 2/4 routing number on evenings and weekends.

Current

Currently, RTS uses Nova Bus Classics, New Flyer D40LFs and D60LFs, NABI 40-LFWs, and Gillig Advantages. Many of these buses are equipped with a Detroit Diesel Series 50 or a Cummins ISL engine. Buses operate out of a single garage, located at 1372 East Main Street in the City of Rochester.

Most, if not all transit vehicles are wheelchair lift equipped, in compliance with American Disability Act (ADA) requirements.
