Life

Robert Emery (born 22 March 1983) is an English pianist, conductor and orchestrator. He started playing the piano at the age of seven, studied at the Royal College of Music

, and since making his London Debut when he was thirteen, has performed Internationally as a recitalist and conductor.

Robert Emery has made two solo piano albums, performed for members of the Royal Family and has given a private recital for Members of Parliament in the historic Westminster Hall. He has recently been Associate Musical Supervisor on Dallebach Kari das Musikal in Switzerland, conductor of FIVE TV’s production of My First Carol Concert, assistant Musical Director on the West-End production of Zorro.

He has conducted amongst others the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, British Philharmonic, Singapore Lyric Symphony and Chorus, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Arts Symphonic, Birmingham Philharmonic, West London Orchestra and Chorus, Ad-Hoc Orchestra and Choir of Great Britain, The London Chorus and choirs internationally.

He is the personal Musical Director for Russell Watson recently travelling to Miami and Singapore; he is also conducting the UK tour 2011, and other concerts in the UK, Japan and China.

As musical director or associate, Robert Emery has also worked on; Royal Variety Performance 2010 (Palladium), FIVE TV’s My First Carol Concert (UK Tour), the broadway film of A Tale of Two Cities (Theatre Royal, Brighton), Betwixt (Ambassadors West End and King’s Head), Variety Club International Awards (Guildhall, London) Opening of St Pancras International (New London Children’s Choir), Plague Songs with Damon Albarn (Barbican), BBC Christmas Celebration (BBC TV Centre), Honk! (Trinity College of Music), Red Cross Royal Gala Ball (Mansion House), Celebrating Politics (Westminster Hall), 10 Minute Musical Challenge (Greenwich Theatre), Boorskale (Soho Theatre), And the World Goes Round, Joseph, An Evening with Rodgers and Hammerstein, Bugsy Malone, Rocky Crusades and An Evening of Musicals and Music.

Robert was also assistant Musical Director for the West End production of Zorro, Musical Director for the West End production of Betwixt, the Conductor for FIVE TV’s production of My First Carol Concert and Associate Musical Supervisor for the world premier of Dallebach Kari das Musikal in Switzerland.

In February 2011, he devised, directed, arranged, co-orchestrated and conducted the Basel Symphony Orchestra for a joint concert with the Europe-wide famous band, ‘Lovebugs
