Controversy

In 2006, Sen made racist comments about black African people in an online interview about a film, saying, "I play a sweet and beautiful girl in the film. The best thing that I like about the film is that though it has four heroes, I am the only heroine. Rohit Shetty is amazing as a director. He can make even a black African look pretty." Sen's comments were condemned by human rights and anti-racism organisations in India and abroad and has not apologised for her comments. Since making these comments her career has suffered, but has still been able to hold on to her role in the Dhoom series.
