 council wanted to bring more of a future to the stability of youngsters throughout the area. It is a well balanced, high performing school which is currently second in the results table in the St Helens area, behind Carmel College

The actual college itself consists of small to medium sized rooms. The school wanted this so that there could be smaller classes for more interactive rooms and so that the teachers and lecturers could engage with the students better.

The college has kept up the tradition of a "common room

"- a place where people can go and chill. The head of the college is Danny Hubball and the assistant head is Steve Marshall. They have also recently appointed a pastoral leader, Catherine Benbow. The common room has been recently refurbished with new comfy seats, a radio and recently painted walls and doors to keep the facilities appearing modern and uptodate.

There is a large study area, where students can enjoy quite study time on brand new state of the art computers and laptops located next to the College library.

Plans have recently been announced by St Helens council to remodel the existing school, Rainford High Technology College, and rename it Rainford Learning Campus (RLC). They have also announced plans to refurbish and extend Rainford College by the year 2012.
