Personal life

Born 5 February 1938 in Bogotá, D.C. to Eduardo Nieto Umaña (22 November 1904-14 January 1946) and Teresa Navia Harker (22 August 1904 - 27 April 1991). He married María Teresa Loaiza Cubides on 28 August 1965 and are the parents of Rafael, Juan Carlos, Pablo, and María Teresa.
