The popularity of Platinum Weddings, at least by WE's standards, is such that they did not require a pilot to be shot before giving the new series the green light.
Seasons 1 & 2 were both half seasons, consisting of only 12 episodes each. Season 3, currently in production as of 14 December 2007, will be the show's first full-length season.
