Plagne was first mentioned in 1311 as Blenn, though earlier it was known as Plentsch.

Geography

Plagne has an area of 7.5 km² (2.9 sq mi). Of this area, 32.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 62.4% is forested. The rest of the land, (4.9%) is settled.
