It was advertised for sale in July 1967 by the London estate agents, Ralph Pay, Lord and Ransom, with the following text (capitalisation preserved):

The sculptor of the "painted cartoons by Ritchie" was most probably Alexander Handyside Ritchie (b.1804, d.1870) or his brother John Ritchie

Current Use

The castle has since been subdivided into individual, privately owned apartments. The stable block has also been converted into a series of two storey dwelling houses, which along with the lodge house, are also privately owned. Some of the apartments are available as holiday lets.
