is a small town located in the Thrissur
district of Kerala
, in south India. It is located on National Highway (NH 47) 23 km south of Thrissur city and about 7 km north of Chalakudy
.

The History of St.Antony’s church perambra begins in 1820, when a Chapel was established under the name of St. Anthony of Padua. This Chapel was under the Chalakudy church for mass on Sunday’s. Due to the upended request from the people of Perambra, a Church was built in perambra during 1830 after getting approval from Kochi Maharaja and Rev. Dr. Maurelius Sebilaniyuse (Varapoly Bishop). Which became an Independent Parish in 1932.
CYM
is one of the strong youth wings in the Perambra parish. Around 100 active members are in KCYM now, celebrated their Silver Jubilee
last year (1985–2010). The various activities of CYM are blood donation
, eye donation and many other social welfare activities. Also a public library working under CYM.
Honorable minister of the Kerala Dominic Presentation declared Perambra village a complete blood literacy village, on December 29, 2005. The village
consists of about 8000 people, all of them tested for their blood groups. Perambra is the third village, that accomplish the complete blood literacy in Kerala
state. IT was CYM who took initiative for this venture.
The Government Ayurveda Hospital Perambra, established in the 1940's moved to Perambra in 1960. This hospital is one of the three government ayurveda
hospitals in Kerala where Panchakarma treatment is available.
Puthukkavu temple, one of the oldest Bagavathy temples, is located in Perambra, "Thaalapoli" maholsavam" is celebrated every year on "Makaram 10th (Malayalam Month) with Nine Elephants.
Perambra is the Birth Place of the Member of Parliament : Lonappan Nambadan
, who is a leading figure in the Communist Party and has won many elections. He started off as a school teacher, he was MP from Mukundapuram during the period 2004 and 2009.
