(top division) of the Italian basketball (taking 2nd place in the 1967/68 season and 3rd place in the 1968/69 season), won the very first Italian Cup
in the 1967/68 season and won the European Cup Winners' Cup
in 1970.
It has had financial problems in the recent years and, as of 2007/08 season, is playing in the Serie C2 (sixth-highest level division). It has only played once in the top two divisions in the last 30 years (Serie A2
in 1997/98 season)
Due to sponsorship deals, it has also been known as Ignis Sud Napoli (1967-1968), Fides Napoli (1968-1971), Fag Napoli (1973-1976), Cosatto Napoli (1976-1977), Gis Napoli (1977-1978) and Pasta Baronia Napoli (1997-1998).
