, but in 1999 the team made a move to the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League. The team opted to take a leave of absence after the 2001-02 season after experiencing financial problems. The Shamrocks were also interested in playing at the junior "C" level the following season. During the summer, remaining players went elsewhere to resume their junior "A" hockey careers. Shamrocks captain Jay Griffiths went to the CJHL's Cornwall Colts
and became one of their keys players. Before the 2003-04 season, the Parry Sound Shamrocks opted not to return and officially folded.

played out of the Humphrey Community Centre instead and made their debut in 2005-06.
Some of the most influential players through 1997 through 1999 were locals Ben Moore (U of Western) and Matt Monks (Wilfrid Laurier University). However both individual chose to put off state side scholarships with ambitions in the CIS.
For the first time since the 2004-05 OJHL season, the town and district of Parry Sound will remain without a Jr. A Hockey franchise as the Bruins will not participate for 2010-11. The Parry Sound Shamrocks came to the Georgian Bay region in 1994 to play in the NOJHA, then moved to the OPJHL in 1999 where they folded in 2002 due to financial problems. It is unknown whether or not Jr. A hockey will return to Parry Sound.
