Every year, Toronto's Now Magazine
publishes their critic's pick of what's 'Best in Toronto'. For two years in a row, Paper Bag Records has been given the title of 'Best Label' in each of Now's 2008 and 2009 issues.
In the August 2007 issue of US publication XLR8R
magazine, Paper Bag Records was voted #14 "Best Indie Label".' The list of 25 included larger indie

Paper Bag Records launched their "Paper Bag Digital" online store in June 2008, which features their entire catalog for purchase and download in mp3
format.
All Paper Bag Records vinyl
releases are numbered pieces produced in limited quantities. To make the vinyl even more of a collector's item, they also typically include additional and/or previously unreleased tracks by the artist not featured on the original album copy.
Under new management as of 2009, the label's identity and image have improved dramatically. Since, new bands such as Austra, The Rural Alberta Advantage, Born Ruffians, Young Galaxy and PS I Love You have joined the label and are now all enjoying international attention.

came out with P2K, a 'Top 500 Tracks of the 2000s' and 'Top 200 Albums of the 2000s' feature, that landed Sally Shapiro
track #235 for I'll Be By Your Side, from the album Disco Romance
(2006) and Broken Social Scene landed at album #23 for 'You Forgot it in People' (2002).
The longlist for the second annual Uncut Music Award was announced and The Acorn were included for their album Glory Hope Mountain. The award, which is spearheaded by the UK’s Uncut magazine, is given to the album with the “most inspiring and rewarding musical experience” of the past year, the Acorn were the only Canadian band on the 25 artists who made the list. Shortly after that announcement, Uncut magazine released their '150 Albums of the Decade' list and landing at #147 was The Acorn's 'Glory Hope Mountain'.
