footballer who played for Celta de Vigo
, Real Madrid
, Deportivo de La Coruña
and Spain
during the 1940s and 1950s. A prolific goalscorer, he twice won the Pichichi.
finish fourth in La Liga
and reach the Copa del Generalísimo
final. The same season he won the Pichichi for the first time. He also scored on his debut for Spain
in a 3–3 with Switzerland
. Among his team mates at Celta were Miguel Muñoz
and the 1948–49 season saw them both join Real Madrid
. Pahiño continued to score regularly at Real in 1952 he won a second Pichichi. However the arrival of Alfredo Di Stéfano
saw him lose his place and he subsequently joined Deportivo de La Coruña
where he played in the same team as Luis Suárez
and Arsenio Iglesias
. Despite his goalscoring achievements, Pahiño only played three times for Spain. He scored both goals as he made his final appearance for them in a 2–2 draw with the Republic of Ireland
in 1955. He finished his playing career at Granada CF
