As with its counterparts in the U.S. and elsewhere, Nickelodeon airs programs aimed at children, including live-action series and animation. Corus already owns two similar channels, YTV and Treehouse TV
, which have carried Nickelodeon programs for many years under output agreements with Viacom. Both channels will continue to air Nickelodeon programs in the future, despite the launch of Nickelodeon Canada, since those channels have near-universal coverage across Canada on basic analogue cable, whereas Nickelodeon is limited to digital distribution.
