and follows Jacob Two-Two and his friends on their wild adventures, most of which are one-shots that are resolved in a single episode.

Characters

Jacob Two Two
The main protagonist of the show. He is a 10-year-old boy who enjoys wrestling, hockey, dinosaurs and spies. His nickname "Jacob Two-Two" comes from his habit of having to say everything twice to be heard in his family, since he is the youngest of five siblings. He befriends many unusual people that he meets in his adventures, including pro wrestler Gary aka The Hooded Fang. His four older siblings include Daniel, Martha, Emma, and Noah, who habitually call him "pipsqueak" and "squirt". Jacob plays on the school hockey team as goalie

, and his favorite professional hockey team is the Montreal Marvels, their hometown team. He looks after his next door neighbour Mr. Dinglebat's hamster Agent Intrepid, helps out his other neighbors like Miss Darling Sweetiepie, and tries his best at school, generally trying to be good, but still he often gets into trouble. He always finds a way to get out of problems, though.

Morty
Jacob's dad is the writer of the popular series of adventure books called "Amazing Ronald", and so he spends most of his time in his office working on the books, checking the scores of his favourite hockey team, also the Montreal Marvels, and often just napping. He is said to be based on Mordecai Richler

, father of Jacob Richler and author of the Jacob Two Two books. He's fairly laid back and loves jokes.

Florence
Jacob's mother, who takes everything in stride as she is an expert multitasker and is happiest when operating at full throttle, keeping her family on the go and organized, holding down a full time job, and, as busy as she is, always looking very fashionable and pulled together.

Daniel
Jacob's oldest brother, the epitome of cool in Jacob's eyes. At sixteen, he is an aloof and hopelessly cynical teen, and a professional rebel constantly dressed in black, with dyed blue hair. He plays the electric guitar, and likes music, especially classics like the Beatles. He treats Jacob like a nuisance sometimes, but also seems to take him more seriously than their other siblings, occasionally, while in a good mood, sitting down and give Jacob a unique 'teen view' of the world.

Martha
Jacob's oldest sister, a very smart girl who is rather short-temperedly suffering through the toughest teen years and frequently takes it out on the people around her. She has a computer in her bedroom, which Jacob often asks to use with limited success, as she's convinced that Jacob ruins everything he touches. Because of that, she doesn't like him going anywhere near her stuff, but occasionally she'll let him use her computer, but usually for only very short periods of time. She has even less time for Jacob than Daniel does, she is proud of his achievements and they care about each other, despite her impatience with him, their frequent arguing, and the fact that Jacob just doesn't understand her very well due to her being a girl.

Noah and Emma
Jacob's older brother and sister respectively, fraternal twins who are rarely seen apart from each other. The two of them are avid readers and wrestling fans, much like Jacob, but they don't take Jacob seriously and treat him like a nuisance who can't keep up with them. They form a superhero team known as "Kid Power" and refer to themselves as the fearless O'Toole (Noah) and the intrepid Shapiro (Emma). They won't allow Jacob into their 'clubhouse', which just makes him long to get in there all the more. He constantly does their bidding in the hope that this time maybe they'll really let him inside. Later in the series, Jacob does become a member of Kid Power however, and his brother and sister sometimes involve him in their missions to right wrongs, thwart real crimes, and stand up for equality for kids. Noah and Emma's superhero costumes consist of stuffed sweaters (which gives the impression of muscular bodies), and towels as capes. Jacob's costume is a red and yellow spandex with a red cape and mask.

Buford Orville Gaylord Pugh
A misfit boy with a string of unfortunate names and has a habit in getting himself and others in trouble. Despite that, he has a definite lack of anxiety and worries, although not from a lack of intelligence but his basic inability to focus. It also makes him prone to recounting pointless, meandering shaggy dog stories at the drop of a hat. He is best friends with Jacob and Renée Ratelle, the three often hanging out together and Buford always trying to help Jacob and Renee out with their problems. Buford likes to say lots of puns and despite his oddness, he seems to know more than he realizes. He also plays on the school hockey team with Jacob, but he's clumsy and not very good at it. He can avidly speak racoon

, has a tendency to sleepwalk, and has an excellent sense of smell, good enough that he can often identify all of the ingredients and spices in a meal just by smelling it, even if the meal is in another room, or even in another house. Choco-Bombs are his favorite snack and he eats them in abundance. He very enthusiastic and always eager to play. His favorite subject is history, and he is considered an expert at it, to the point where he has been on several television game shows to test his memory skills of historical events.

Renée Ratelle
Jacob's rival but also one of his closest friends. She is known "Rattlesnake Ratelle" for her skill on the skateboard and is the center on Jacob's hockey team. Renee has a French accent and often uses French words, especially when excited or angry--and since she has a fair temper, that can happen often. As well as being one of the smartest kids in school, Renée is a real hothead who doesn't always look before she leaps and it becomes Jacob's role to temper her enthusiasm. Despite being close friends, Jacob, Buford, and Renée all find it difficult to admit to being friends with a member of the opposite gender.

Mr. Dinglebat
Jacob's next door neighbour is an international spy, working for CMIST (Canadian Ministry of Intrigue, Spying, and Tattling). Jacob later helps Mr. Dinglebat and his agent Intrepid (a hamster) on top secret missions.

Ignats M. Greedyguts
The excessively fat, gluttonous, selfish, vain, greedy, and cowardly principal of Jacob's school, Dreary Meadows. He possesses an enduring dislike of children that causes him to be quite severe with his pupils. He loves to eat, once claiming he invented jelly donuts and will do anything to make a quick buck, including taking advantage of his students. He has a semi-romantic relationship in Miss Sourpickle, Jacob's teacher, which is much more serious on her side than his. He also has a manipulative, seemingly charismatic twin brother Y.B. Greedyguts, who manages to be even worse than I.M.

Miss Sour Pickle
Jacob's spiteful and evil geography teacher, as well as Buford, and Renée's. She always has a scowl plastered on her face, like she's smelled something bad, and is excessively harsh towards her students, glorying in catching her students not paying attention or talking in class, then giving them snap quizzes on the obscure capitals of equally obscure countries. She has a low opinion of all of them, but is quick to credit their work (when done exceptionally) as a result of her teaching. She shows affection only for Greedyguts and her vicious little pet poodle, Dustmop, and takes pleasure only in than tormenting Jacob and cheering for her favourite team, the marvelous Montreal Marvels. It's her biggest secret that she simply adores hockey.

"Perfectly Loathsome" Leo Louse
The school's janitor, who often works for Greedyguts and Sour Pickle to ruin the lives of the kids at Dreary Meadows, and when Greedyguts needs dirty work done, or a mess swept under the carpet, Leo is the man for the job. He looks out for his own interests above all and will do as little as possible to get a meal or money, being a weaselly man, a miser, and a mooch. He will go as far at to swipe anything that isn't nailed down. Despite his rather unsavoury character, Jacob's Dad is mysteriously fond of Leo (the two having once lived in the same duplex when they were younger), and whenever Leo drops by he'll fill his pockets with Florence's sandwiches. He also often attends poker games with Jacob's Dad and their other friends. Due to Greedygut's cheapness, he is also Jacob's school hockey team's coach. He actually lives in the storage room at the school with his mother, who is as equally greedy and cheap as he is.
