In May 2004 the responsibilities in the Sri Lankan government changed, and the NIBM now is accountable to the Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational and Technical Education (Sri Lanka).

The Management Information Systems Division

The Management Information Systems (MIS) Division handles Computer training, which consists basically of two Diploma programs, a Degree program and several Certificate level programs. The major Computer programs of the NIBM consists of a One-year Diploma in Computer System Design and a two-year program leading to a Higher Diploma in Computer Based Information Systems.
