Background

Tumani testified that his father had immigrated to Afghanistan to establish a restaurant, and that he and the rest of his extended family traveled there to join him, after he had established himself, when he was eighteen, shortly before al Qaeda's attacks on September 11.
He testified that neither he or his father had ever had any association with hostilities. He testified that in spite of always being cooperative he was repeatedly threatened with torture in Guantanamo.

He was transferred to Portugal on August 28, 2009.
