Morningside College is one of the colleges of the Chinese University of Hong Kong
established in 2006. Morningside College is the smallest residential college of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, accommodating around 300 students at equilibrium. has expected an increased student enrollment by about 3,000 upon the reversion to the four-year curriculum. To accommodate more students, Chinese University of Hong Kong
has decided to appeal to private donors for the establishment of new colleges, as the government refused to provide public funding for this purpose. In January 2006, the Task Force on New Colleges visited six universities that have college systems of the United States and the United Kingdom, and in April, the University Council approved the setting up of few small to medium-sized colleges, and decided to establish Morningside College in May 2006.
