MesoCoat synthesizes and assembles non-oxide ceramic matrix component nano particles into coating solutions. Their coatings provide wear and corrosion protection to metallic surfaces. The core technologies acquired and licensed for MesoCoat’s start-up phase were developed at the Department Of Energy’s Oakridge National Laboratory.

The firm is led by Mr. Andrew Sherman, a ceramic material scientist and corrosion industry veteran who was recognized as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards in 2009.

For the past two and a half years, MesoCoat has funded its primary research and development activities through government grants, third party licensing arrangements, and venture . and equity financing

The company now has 14 unique nanocomposite cermet and carbide coatings in different stages of development as well as a high-speed cladding process.
