Lui Tuck Yew

Lui Tuck Yew (born 16 August 1961) is a politician from Singapore
. A member of the governing People's Action Party
(PAP), he is currently the country's Transport Minister
and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs
. He was formerly an officer in the Republic of Singapore Navy
, rising to the rank of Rear Admiral
, and served as Singapore's Chief of Navy from 1999-2003.
Lui is a Member of Parliament
representing the Moulmein-Kallang Group Representation Constituency
(GRC). He served as a Minister of State in the Ministry of Education
and the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts
(MICA). He then served as the Acting Minister for MICA and subsequently became a full minister in the same ministry from November 1 2010. He had also previously served as Chief Executive Officer
of the Housing and Development Board and Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore
. After the 2011 Singaporean General Elections, in a new Cabinet line-up, Lui was appointed as the Transport Minister and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Lui is an alumnus of the Anglo-Chinese School
and Anglo-Chinese Junior College

During the election campaign, he filed a police report against a member of a condominium's management committee, saying the committee member had accused him of trespassing by entering the private property without the permission of the management committee, and subsequently hurled vulgarities and abuse at him. In his defence, Lui mentioned that a resident had invited the visiting party into the condominium. Later, an unnamed person claiming to be the committee member denied Lui's accusations, saying that no vulgarities were used, and that a single resident's invitation did not override the requirement to get approval of the committee.
