Luhansk power station is a thermal power station

. It was built between 1950 and 1956 and its first generator was connected to the grid on September 30, 1956. In 1957 4 turbines and 7 boilers went in service. In 1958 it was completed.
Between 1979 and 2004 Luhanskaya Power Plant was modernized. It consists today of 4 units with 200 MW, 3 units of 175 MW and 1 unit of 100 MW. The generator building of Luhansk power station, which has 3 250 metres (820.2 ft) tall chimneys, is 672 metres (2,204.7 ft) long.
