. As all county roads are unsigned and the numbers used for internal purposes only, information on Nassau County routes is somewhat hard to come by and the following list is likely incomplete.
All county route signage was removed in the mid-1970s because the County Legislature did not want to appropriate funds to replace the signs to conform to the new 1973 Federal Highway Administration
standards. As the old signage did not conform to the administration's Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
