Current proposals by the Boundary Commission for Wales would retain these
6 constituencies, with changes to realign constituency boundaries with the boundaries of current local government wards, and to reduce the electoral disparity between constituencies. Constituency boundaries will be aligned the South Glamorgan boundary, but Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney will continue to be shared with Gwent.
These changes are expected to be implemented at the United Kingdom general election, 2010.
