have left some constituencies spanning their boundaries. The Preserved county of South Glamorgan
is basically divided into 5 Parliamentary constituencies
: Four Borough constituencies
and one County constituency but also includes parts of three others spanning the border with Mid Glamorgan
.
Current proposals by the Boundary Commission for Wales would retain these five constituencies, with changes to realign constituency boundaries with the boundaries of current Preserved counties and local government wards, and to reduce the electoral disparity between constituencies. These changes are expected to be implemented at the United Kingdom general election, 2010.
