.
He was taken under the wing of Scottish
athlete Jim Alder
who became his training
partner. Alder later talked about and commended Fogerty in his biography Marathon and Chips
Fogerty represented England during a European Tour event, held in the Netherlands in 1966. In Amsterdam
he won the 400m, 800m and 1500m. Later Fogerty travelled to Rotterdam
, to compete in the Men's 1500m finishing 3rd (as a youth
at the age of 15).
