Laser Beasts is the name of a line of small 2" tall action figure
toys and were produced by Hasbro
and Takara
starting in 1988. Each Beast is an anthropomorphised animal with body armor that came with a unique weapon. Several figures have their left hand replaced by a weapon of some kind.
The Laser Beast line is actually the Fourth Series of the Battle Beast
line that was released beginning in 1984. While there was a total of 76 Battle Beasts, there were only 36 Laser Beasts produced. All 36 Laser Beasts were released in Japan
and in limited quantities North America
and Europe
. In the United States, they were known as Battle Beasts Shadow Warriors.
