. The eastbound train (#782) departed Los Angeles early Friday afternoon and arrived in Las Vegas that evening. The westbound train (#781) departed from Las Vegas Sunday afternoon and arrived in Los Angeles that evening. The train carried a diner, lounge and coaches. Amtrak dropped the service on August 6, citing low patronage and blaming inadequate publicity.
