He also served as president of the Northwest Ohio County Auditors’ Association, which includes Sandusky, Ottawa and Erie counties.

In 2007, Kaczala ran for political office again, this time for Toledo Municipal Court, but suffered the same result at the hands of the Republican party-endorsed Judge Michael R. Goulding. Kaczala also taught courses in real estate law, civil rights, and ethics at the University of Toledo

Death

On Tuesday, June 8, 2010, Kaczala apparently committed suicide, leaping from the fifth floor of the parking garage at the Toledo Hospital.
