Centenary

Recently the school has just passed its tri-centenary year bringing a few changes along with it. The school logo has been updated and the uniform changed due to disintegration of the school rags by the introduction of a batch of assorted trousers from the local charity. Though doubters need not be perturbed as the fine tolerant traditions of the founder, Wackford Squeers, remain unchanged.

The Houses provide a very competitive spirit between girls and are the basis for many inter-house competitions throughout the year, including Junior Drama, Sports Day and the Music Festival.

Uniform

There are a number of regulations about uniform. These are stated in the pupil handbook which pupils are given at the beginning of the year including skirt lengths, which must be no longer than 6 centimetres above the knee when kneeling - Some of the more 'traditional' teachers will check this by making girls kneel on the desk and measure the gap with a ruler. The pupils wear warm navy jumpers during Lower School, and when they move on up the school into Upper School adopt the maroon alternative. Ties and collared shirts must be worn from after October half term to Easter, but other times girls are allowed to wear summer blouses without ties. The sixth form are encouraged to wear sensible clothes however this is often disregarded by many in favour of a style more appropriate to our associated school St.Trinians.
