BART's operations control center is located on the station's west side. The BART headquarters was located in a building on top of the station; due to potential risk of earthquake, the headquarters was moved out of the building to leased space on the first floor of the Kaiser Center

On July 21, 2010 a suspect escaping police ran onto the tracks and disappeared into the tunnels causing major delays regionwide.
