Luyckx began his career in his hometown Castricum with Vitesse 1922 and was than scouted 1996 from AZ. He played between 2006 on youth side for AZ before promoted to Eredivisie side, after one year only league appearances was loaned out to Excelsior RotterdamExcelsior Rotterdam
