the station was called "K-Joy 94.1 Soft and Easy". In 2000 KJOY changed formats from Soft and Easy to a new format called "Soft Oldies". Then with the destruction of K-Best 95, KJOY became a full oldies station (which was moved to 95.7 and 99.3 and rebranded KOOL).

On November 21, 2001, KJQY swapped formats and call letters with "Mix 95.7", also owned by Clear Channel, and for a short time played Christmas music

Morning Shows

KMYI has had many morning shows throughout the years the most current is AJ in the Morning featuring A.J Machado, Delana, Dorothy and producer Hula. The latter, Dorothy, replaced Gina on AJ in the Morning as she joined Frankie V on the new morning show on Channel 933 on November 8, 2010

Previous to the local duo Jeff and Jer, Jagger and Kristi had their own morning show on in the My 94.1 days of the station. Like Jeff and Jer they were from the old Star 100.7 as well before they moved here. The married couple is still on today on Magic 92.5
