. It is the first Catholic high school to be founded in Tallahassee. The first graduating class was in 2004, with the first charter class graduating the next year, in 2005. John Paul II has a campus that includes a fully equipped gymnasium, chapel, main building, soccer field, and baseball field; with plans of new construction in the next decade.

Mission statement

It's the mission of John Paul II Catholic High to provide an affordable college preparatory curriculum within a Christ-centered Catholic environment. This mission encompasses the education of the whole person - spirit, mind and body- within the tradition of the Catholic Church.

John Paul II High School's mascot is Pep the Panther, and their colors are Blue and Gold. JPII has fourteen athletic teams: seven boys teams and seven girls teams.

The arts

John Paul II, also referred to as "JP2", has always had a large amount of student participation in the arts. It has received notice for its active drama department led by Mrs. Ashley Sosis, the main director for the musical and dramatic arts, a chorus that competes state-wide in choral competitions, a growing musical instrument program, and a highly celebrated creative arts department led by Mr. John Rooks that has competed in art competitions and has been showcased at varies museums and shows throughout Tallahassee. John Paul II puts on an annual arts and music festival known as "SouthWoodstock", which showcases both student and outside artists and musicians alike.
