Wilson's interest in pugilism started as a teenager but he was a relative late comer to professional boxing, turning pro at 27.

He made his debut at the Grosvenor Hotel in Sheffield in April 2007 and stopped Peter Cannon in round five. Since then he's suffered a serious of injuries and has also seen his career slowed down by multiple pull outs by opponents. Still, he's had ten contests and won eight. He is targeting a British title shot in 2011.

Wilson is managed and trained by Glyn Rhodes and is under contract to Ricky Hatton
