Jeong Seung-hoa was South Korean soldier, and the 22nd ROK Army Chief of Staff. He was in Gungjeong-dong during the assassination of President Park Chung-hee
.
After President Park's death, Jeong ruled South Korea as the chief martial law administrator. He plotted to exclude political soldiers such as Hanahoe. In result, Hanahoe's members such as Chun Doo-hwan
and Roh Tae-woo
committed Coup d'état of December Twelfth
and arrested Jeong. Jeong was unjustly accused of the assassination of Park and tortured.
Jeong regained the impaired reputation in 1997, after 17 years from Coup d'état. He died in 2002.
