Bourke has also been a member of the Victorian State team. In 2008 he played four games in the Brown grade (23 & under) and five games in the Tange grade (18 & under). In 2009 Bourke again played in the Tange grade, playing four games and scoring 11 points.

Bourke was first called up to represent Australia in 2010 where he joined the national senior team to compete in the 2010 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A
