International Education College (INTEC), Malaysia was established in 1983 under the name College of Preparatory Education (KPP). The institution is the place where students, mostly Malaysians, undergo specially prepared programmes before they further their studies overseas.

History

International Education College, UiTM was established at 1983 as a preparatory center of MARA University of Technology (UiTM). The college was previously known as Centre for Preparatory Studies or Pusat Pendidikan Persediaan (PPP). It was known as Overseas Preparatory Programme (OPP) or Program Persediaan Luar Negeri (PPLN) in the period from year 2000 until November 2001 when it was renamed yet again as International Education Center (INTEC) to reflect its role as a provider of international education.

On October 4th 2010, it was upgraded to a college by the Executive Committee of UiTM. With the upgrade, the college was renamed as International Education College and given a redesigned logo. However, it retains its acronym INTEC and motto, Distinctly Global.

 sponsored students. However, only bumiputra students can be accepted as private students at the college. Most of the students at INTEC stay at hostels provided by UiTM.

American Top University Program

The institute offers two difference preperatory programs to prepare students to pursue tertiary education in the United States. These programs are the American Degree Foundation Program and the American Credit Transfer Program. Together these two programs are known as the American Top Universities Program.

American Credit Transfer Program (ACTP)

ACTP (American Credit Transfer Program) is a program designed by INTEC to meet JPA's requirement for its sponsored students to obtain their first year of study at INTEC. As of November 2010, there have already been four ACTP batches. Credits earned in ACTP classes are transferable to most universities in the US.

Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT)

n universities, primarily in the medical field. THe prorgam lasts 2–8 months depending on the month of intake. To enrole in this program, students must achieve high SPM results, as selected by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA).

The Russian language in this program is taught by lecturers from Russia mainly from Voronezh

A-Level Medicine

The two-year A-Level Medicine programme prepares students to pursue studies in Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry abroad. This programme is set up specifically to train and guide students effectively so that they can attain at least 12 points (the equivalent of three B-grades) in their A-level examinations to help students to get placements in selected universities. Most of the students here composed of PSD (Public Service Department) scholars.
