n identity card (literally: Resident Identity Card). Separate versions exist for Indonesian and non-Indonesian residents. The card is issued upon reaching the age of 17 or upon marriage. In the case of Indonesian citizens, the card must be renewed every 5 years. For residents, the card's expiry date is the same as their residency expiry date. starting 2011, the Indonesian government is implementing E-KTP or KTP elektronik which is containing microchip on the card.
