Hugo A. Sigman is an Argentine businessman who was born in 1944. Although his main business activity has traditionally been related to the pharmaceutical industry, over a decade ago he diversified his interests and today has a multi-faceted business profile: he encourages research on new treatments for cancer, he produces movies and owns the publishing house Capital Intelectual.

) and undertook his residency in psychiatry at the Araóz Alfaro Hospital, in Lanús, where he was also Head of Residents. He is married to biochemist Silvia Gold, with whom he has three children. , Hugo Sigman is a partner in Elea and Biogénesis-Bagó laboratories. He also contributes to a Scientific Research Consortium that unites the efforts of university researchers, the Government and the private sector, in the search for new treatments for cancer. One of these treatments is already in phase III and another is in phase II of testing. In 2008, Mr Sigman was honoured with a merit diploma at the Konex Awards, in the "Innovating Entrepreneurs" category.

The range of Sigman's activities also includes farming and forestry, with companies like Garruchos and Pomera, Los Murmullos Lodge, and Yacaré Porá, a sustainable venture that has increased the Yacaré Caiman population in the province of Corrientes and also produces international quality leather.
