The band earned acclaim at the 2006 MusicNL awards, taking home the awards for Group of the Year, Pop/Rock Group of the Year, CBC Galaxie Rising Star of the Year, and Album of the Year for their debut album Plan Your Escape. In 2007, they were nominated for Newcap Rock Recording of the Year at the 2007 East Coast Music Awards for Plan Your Escape. They completed an Ontario-East tour to promote the debut album. In September 2007, the band's track "Lions for Scottie", from Plan Your Escape, was featured as iTunes

Their second album, Into Your Lungs (and around in your heart and on through your blood), was released on June 3, 2008, produced by Hawksley Workman
. The first single was "There's an Arc". The songs "Psalm" and "We Made a Pact" are featured on the Canadian television series Flashpoint

Into Your Lungs... was named Album of the Year at the inaugural Verge Music Awards, held by XM Satellite Radio

Tim Baker was also nominated for songwriter of the year, but the award was won by Gordie Sampson

In 2009 Hey Rosetta! was featured in the CBC television movie Diverted
, where they performed their song "I've Been Asleep for a Long, Long Time" from Into Your Lungs. In November 2009, they recorded a new song, "Old Crow Black Night Stand Still", for CBC Radio 2's Great Canadian Song Quest

The band gained attention after the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games when their song "Red Heart" was featured in Stephen Brunt
's Olympic Montage video celebrating Canada's national pride.
After three and a half years, their third album, Seeds
