The ethnic makeup of Hendrick Middle School is very diverse. Caucasians make up the majority of the population (62%) but there is a considerable Asian student body (19%). The Hispanic and African American student population are approximately 10% and 9% respectably. Native Americans make up 0.2% of the school's population. The student-teacher ratio is 15:1. The foreign language classes have the highest ratio, with up to 26 students per teacher.

All Hendrick athletes are considered part of a JV program while many Hendrick students participate in varsity or junior varsity athletics at the High School they will attend.

History
Hendrick Middle School is named in honor of former Plano Independent School District Superintendent, Dr. H. Wayne Hendrick. Dr. Hendrick led the district from 1961–1991. During his tenure, Dr. Hendrick oversaw the addition of 42 new schools to the district.Students
