Heinz Greiner

Heinrich "Heinz" Greiner (12 August 1895 – 19 November 1977) was a highly decorated officer in the German Army during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves
. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade Oak Leaves was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Major-General (Generalleutnant) Greiner was captured by American forces 8 May 1945 and held until 1947.
