and laid down on 6 July 1940. She was launched on 24 October 1940 and commissioned on 17 May 1941. She was named after the city of Dauphin, Manitoba
.
Dauphin escorted merchant ships between Halifax Harbour
and Liverpool
through the battle of the Atlantic. The ship was decommissioned following the end of hostilities and sold for civilian use in 1949.
