 in 2009, acquiring National Dairy and Farmland Dairies. The Company's chairman is Eduardo Tricio and the CEO is Arquimedes Celis. LALA is now the largest dairy company in Latin America. The Company name makes reference to its origin "La Laguna", a Region located in Northern Mexico where the Mayran Lagoon was present.

Although no public figures have been released, Rabobank International estimates in their list of the Global-Top 20 dairy companies that Grupo LALA should make the list should their numbers become public. Grupo LALA is the only dairy company with a presence nationwide in Mexico.
