The Great Birmingham Run is an annual half marathon

event held in Birmingham

in October. Formerly known as the Birmingham Half Marathon, from 2011 it became part of the Great Run series of road races.
The 2010 Birmingham Half Marathon attracted around 14,000 participants.
Established in 2008, it incorporated the World Half Marathon Championships in 2009. In 2011, the race was televised live in the United Kingdom by Channel 5.
