Part of the Gestair Group with its business units Commercial Aviation, Aviation Training and Private Aviation, it is a corporate aviation company operating a wide range of services including charter flights and aircraft management, scheduled commuter flights, aircraft maintenance and handling and ad hoc charters. Its main base is Madrid-Torrejón Airport.

History

The airline was established and started operations in 1977. It is wholly owned by Jesus Macarron Gomez (Gestair Interholding and Macholfam) and has 185 employees (at December 2008).

Group Divisions

The Gestair Group is structured in three business units with its corresponding divisions:

- Private Aviation

Gestair Private Jets: charter flights and aircraft management

Gestair FBO: offers ground services to passengers, crews and aircraft.

Gestair Aircraft Consulting: consultancy on aircraft sale and purchase.

Gestair Maintenance: aircraft line maintenance.
- Commercial Aviation

Gestair Airlines: offers the management of fleets and crews under a Wet Lease contract.

Gestair Cargo: destined to integrated air cargo of medium and large tonnage

- Aviation Training

Gestair Flying Academy: one of the biggest FTOs in Europe with bases in Spain, Portugal and Italy, and currently around 400 ATPL students and 50 aircraft, most of them equipped with Garmin 1000 technology.

Gestair Airline Training: Training of future Airline Transport pilots (ATPL license). Authorized TRTO centre to license for Boeing B757/767, Airbus A340, Airbus A320 and CCQ from A320 to A340 type, it offers continuous training to professionals in airlines and maintenance experts.
