GHS has had heavy success in sports the last several years. The football team had two back-to-back undefeated seasons in 1973 and 1974. They also took first place in WIAA
Division 2 in 1998 and 2003. In 1972, the boys track team took first in the WIAA Division 2 Championships. Also, in 2006 the boys' track team took first in the WIAA
Division 1 Championship. In 2008 and 2009, the boys' basketball team went to the state tournament, losing both years to the #1 seed in the first round.
Germantown's pom team, the Warchix, perform at home football and basketball games and have placed high at local and state competitions.

Academics
The school provides students with a range of educational opportunities, including core subjects, technology education, physical education, and the fine arts. Currently it offers AP courses in English Literature and Language, Statistics, Psychology, US History, Biology, and AB and BC Calculus. Students are required to take three semesters of physical education, although there is a senior physical education course offered. The foreign languages offered are French, German, and Spanish. However, Germantown High School still lags behind most of the North Shore Conference schools in terms of academics as well as class offerings.Extra-curricular activities
