History and origin

The Kahrwal is a branch of the Janjuas Rajputs of the Potohar region.

They claim descent from Pir Kala, a son of Raja Mai, who married Kaho Rani when he came to the Kahuta hills, and named the ilaqua Kahru after her. Hence the descendants are called Kahrwal. The Diilal is a sub-division of the tribe. This branch should not be confused with the Dolal Qureshis of Gujar Khan Tehsil
